Job Overview

Join the Developer Design Group within 樱花动漫鈥檚 Platform and Development Xceleration (PDX) Group as a Staff Product Designer, where you鈥檒l lead the end-to-end design strategy for Cloud Workspace鈥攁 critical platform that enables 樱花动漫 developers to launch fully provisioned cloud-based environments in seconds. Cloud Workspace eliminates local setup barriers and accelerates the ability to code securely, consistently, and efficiently. As a senior individual contributor, you will drive strategic design initiatives, partner with engineering and product teams, and shape experiences that impact developer productivity at scale across 樱花动漫.

As a Staff Designer, you鈥檒l lead design for Cloud Workspace, collaborating across a deeply technical, cross-functional ecosystem. You鈥檒l bring clarity to complex problems, craft scalable and intuitive solutions, and influence design quality across the platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for Cloud Workspace, defining how developers spin up, customize, and operate in cloud-native dev environments. • Drive platform-level thinking—ensuring consistency, scalability, and usability across the broader PDX developer experience. • Translate developer workflows, tooling constraints, and infrastructure requirements into cohesive, intuitive experiences. • Work closely with engineering and product teams to align on feasibility, architecture, and roadmap direction. • Champion the use and evolution of the 樱花动漫 Design System (IDS); contribute new patterns and provide editorial feedback. • Conduct or partner on research efforts to gather developer insights, validate design hypotheses, and fill data gaps. • Use dashboards, telemetry, and experiments to define success criteria and evaluate impact. • Communicate design strategy, rationale, and impact to cross-functional partners and senior leadership with clarity and influence. • Mentor junior and mid-level designers, and contribute to the growth of craft culture within the Developer Design Group.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates impact on highly technical or platform products.
  • Expertise designing for developer tools, cloud platforms, or infrastructure-as-code workflows.
  • Strong interaction and systems thinking skills—capable of solving for flexibility, reuse, and end-to-end consistency.
  • Deep understanding of technical domains like CI/CD, IDE environments, containerization, or developer onboarding.
  • Fluency in Figma and industry-standard design tools, and familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude, Looker).
  • Experience using qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions and define success metrics.
  • Strong communicator, facilitator, and storyteller with the ability to align stakeholders and advocate for user needs.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and balancing platform constraints with ideal user experiences. Bonus Points
  • Experience designing cloud-based IDEs (e.g., GitHub Codespaces, JetBrains Gateway) or remote dev environments.
  • Background in designing internal platforms, with deep empathy for software engineers and their workflows.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure provisioning, telemetry systems, or secure development pipelines.
